M-ASK OF LIFE is a video art project produced, directed, and created by Arianna Balestrieri.

Through an original artistic approach, it explores various themes of social change while reflecting

on a series of existential questions (ASK) that the artist asked herself during the lockdown period.

The project features four masks and four episodes, each shaped by the emotion embodied by its

mask and the question that arises from it, giving every episode its own distinctive tone.

M-ASK OF LIFE ultimately invites viewers to engage in a profound reflection on the human

experience.

The only colors we see are those of the masks, the true protagonists of the series. These emotional

masks reveal the artist's inner world within her timeless white room, while outside the world is

changing. They come to life, or rather, they embody the artist's soul.

Stay home, they told me. Stop yourself, they told me.

Stay on your own and wait, they told me.

Day after day, I ended up having some interesting conversations with Brother Sun.

Brother Sun and I had much time at our disposal to share and we talked a lot.

He told me that he has a very close friend, his name is Planet Earth.

They have a wonderful friendship, a 360-degree relationship... Planet Earth cannot live without

him!

It’s weird that they have never touched each other, they always have to keep a physical distance of

93 million miles.

Planet Earth and I have an understanding, Brother Sun knows it, so he asked me to take care of him.

From that moment I felt I had to protect Planet Earth and do something for him.

So I decided to... not to do.

Staying home, staying alone, staying still, and let the nature move.
